Sci Fi Classic STAR TREK: The Motion Picture on the Strand screen on August 2

ROCKLAND, Maine - A special screening of the Sci Fi Classic Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) will be shown at the Strand Theatre, 345 Main Street, on Tuesday, August 2 at 7pm.

The return of Captain Kirk! In the story, an alien spacecraft of enormous power is spotted approaching Earth. Admiral Kirk resumes command of the Starship Enterprise in order to intercept, examine and hopefully stop the intruder. Directed by Robert Wise. Starring original Star Trek cast members William Shatner (Captain Kirk), Leonard Nimoy (Spock), DeForest Kelley (Dr. McCoy), James Doohan (Scotty), George Takei (Sulu), Michelle Nichols (Uhuru), Majel Barrett (Dr. Chapel), and Walter Koenig (Chekov), and introducing Persis Khambatta (Ilia) and Stephen Collins (Decker).
