MacGregor enshrined into Maine Basketball HOF on Sunday

Bangor, Maine - Former Husson head men's basketball coach Bruce MacGregor was one of 29 individual inductees enshrined into the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame on Sunday inside the Cross Insurance Center. MacGregor was a part of the second annual enshrinement class.

MacGregor coached at Husson from 1969-1994 and amassed a school-record 540 wins in 26 years while building a tradition of winning basketball and academic excellence. His Husson teams made seven NAIA National Championship appearances and won six Regional titles.

The Eagles 1989 squad went 35-3, setting a program record for wins in a season, and was ranked as high as No. 4 in the national polls.

MacGregor, a 1998 Husson Sports Hall of Fame inductee, was honored with District Coach of the Year accolades 12 times.

MacGregor also coached the Husson men's golf team for 17 seasons, leading the unit to 10 National Tournament appearances.
