WHITINGHAM, Vermont - Husson has been picked to finish seventh in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) East Division Women's Tennis Preseason Coaches Poll, the league office announced Friday.
The Eagles begin their inaugural season under coach Josh Warren Saturday, Sept. 12, against Thomas (Maine) at 11 a.m. ET at the Bangor High School tennis courts.
Three-time defending champion Colby-Sawyer (N.H.) was unanimously selected as the preseason favorite to win the NEAC East Division Women's Tennis Championship after receiving all eight first-place votes in the coaches' poll. Castleton (Vt.) placed second with 52 points, while Massachusetts-Liberal Arts claimed third with 41 points. Thomas was selected fourth after earning 39 points. Rounding out the poll was Lyndon State (Vt.) in fifth (29 points), Johnson State (Vt.) in sixth (28 points), Husson in seventh (23 points), and Green Mountain (Vt.) in eighth (12 points).
