LITHGOW LIBRARY TO HOLD BOOK SALE, RAFFLE & BAKE SALE MAY 15-17

Augusta, Maine - A book sale, raffle and bake sale, sponsored by the Friends of Lithgow Library, will be held May 15-17 in the Reading Room of Lithgow Public Library.

All funds raised from the sale will go toward the Friends’ Capital Campaign to renovate and expand the historic library building.

The book sale hours are: Thursday, May 15 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday, May 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, May 17 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  The bake sale will be held Thursday and Friday, May 15 and 16, during the book sale hours.  The book sale, raffle and bake sale are all cash-only.

“This event is a great way for book-lovers to satisfy their cravings for new reads, and to enjoy some delicious home-baked treats and a chance to win a raffle prize,” said book sale coordinator and Lithgow Trustee Joan Callahan.  “Customers can feel good about how the sale will benefit the library, and they can get some terrific bargains at the same time.”

Tickets for a 50/50 cash drawing and a raffle featuring gift cards from local merchants are on sale at the Adult Services and Youth Services circulation desks until May 17.  Generous donations for the raffle are contributed from the Red Barn, Downtown Diner, Lisa’s Legit Burritos, Bagel Mainea, Gagliano’s, Riverfront BBQ, Hannaford Supermarket, and Harvest Time.

Donations of gently used books, audio books, music CDs and DVDs are accepted until May 9.  The library does not accept textbooks, encyclopedias, condensed books or moldy items.

Donations may be dropped off at Lithgow Library during regular business hours:  9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
