KELT and The Plant Home present wildflower programs for Seniors
BATH, Maine - The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust (KELT) and The Plant Home invite seniors to discover the wildflowers of Maine this May. Maine Master Naturalists Volunteers, Sue Calhoun and Becky Kolak, will share wildflowers of the Midcoast. Let your inner botanist bloom!On Thursday, May 1 at 1:00pm at The Plant Home, Calhoun and Kolak will present the basics of identifying common wildflowers and share their passion for Maine's magnificent array floral plants. Jump start your green thumb by planting pots with flowers or greens to take home.
On Saturday, May 17 at 1:00pm at KELT's Thorne Head Preserve in Bath, meet Calhoun and Kolak for a stroll down the Overlook Trail. We will look for blooms of all shapes, colors, and sizes to identify. Learn how to use a common plant identification key and enjoy the fresh forest air and scenery! For those with an artistic flair, draw, color, or paint the flowers you find and create a nature journal.

The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust is a membership supported organization dedicated to protecting the land, water and wildlife of the Kennebec Estuary.
