“The Lesser-Known Peru”
“The Lesser-Known Peru” March 13
Greg Dorr made a 35-day trek through the mountains of Peru and has returned to Camden with beautiful images to share. Dorr will give a slide talk on “The Lesser-Known Peru” on Thursday, March 13, at 7:00 pm, at the Camden Public Library.
“Peru has the second highest mountains in the world, the second driest desert in the world, and jungle rivers that flow East and are navigable to the Atlantic Ocean,” says Dorr, and added, “I visited all three environments by bus, canoe, and on foot. I spent time in the markets of Andahuaylas, Ayacucho, Tarma, and Atalaya. I photographed Chanka ruins at Sondor, Wari ruins at Quinua, Tarma ruins at Tarmatambo, Inca ruins at Cusco, and the Marcahuasi ruins above San Pedro de Casta. All this plus dental work in Lima will be revealed!”
“And in case you want a picture of me,” says Dorr, “here’s one with San Pedro de Casta in the background, at 13,000 feet.”
