Local Performance and Local FoodPortland, Maine - POP! (Portland Ovations Presents) is an arts celebration and a silent auction benefit raising money to support Portland Ovations' school- and community-based arts-programs, Ovations Offstage. The party takes place on Tuesday, October 1st at 5:30pm inside The Portland Company Complex at 58 Fore Street, Portland.
This exciting evening transforms the Portland Company into a lively indoor street fair with pop-up music, dance and circus performances by local Maine artists, incredible silent auction items to bid on and delicious food from some of Southern Maine's top restaurants, all to support Ovations Offstage.
Ovations Offstage is an integral part of Portland Ovations, which creates those resonating moments when artists and audiences come together. The proceeds from POP! enables Ovations Offstage to offer a School-Time Performance series that connects schools, teachers and students to the performing arts, as well as in-school workshops with artists and artist-educators; Masterclasses and workshops with visiting artists; free pre-performance lectures by local Maine experts prior to most Ovations' presentations; arts happenings around town; study guides and other educational resources for students and educators, available for free through Portland Ovations' website.
POP! happens on October 1st at The Portland Company, 58 Fore Street in Portland and begins at 5:30pm. Tickets are $25 for Portland Ovations Members, $35 in advance for the general public and $40 at the door. To purchase tickets please call Portland Ovations at (207) 773-3150.
