Oceanside Girls Soccer Defeats Medomak In Season Opener

Thomaston, Maine - The Oceanside High School girls soccer teams hosted Medomak Valley High School to kick-off their season. What a thriller the varsity game was in the first half with Payton Billingsley, Emma Spencer 2 goals each, Kim Young and Sydney Hall with one goal each. Oceanside Mariners won the game by a score of 6-0.

Twelve minutes into the game Payton Billingsley scored the first of two goals with an assist from Kelsey Books and Karly Robinson at 12:50. Two and a half minutes later Billingsley score again on a loose ball at the top of the 18 to make it 2-0 Oceanside.

Emma Spencer scored the first of her two goals at 14:34 unassisted on a shot that she ripped past the goalie from 25 yards out. Her second goal of the game came at 7:06 on a cross from Makenna Brooks to make it 4-0.

Kim Young scored the fifth goal for Oceanside at 5:53 with an assist from Sydney Hall from 12 yards out.

Final score of the game came from Sydney Hall at 1:36 with another assist from M. Brooks who crossed the ball to the middle and found Hall for the 6-0 lead.

In the junior varsity game the Oceanside Mariners won by a score of 2-1. The Oceanside Mariners and Medomak Panthers played great and showed how hard the players work.
