Bangladeshi Delegation To Visit Camden

Partners for World Health (PWH), a Maine-based non-profit, all-volunteer organization, is hosting members of Eminence, a public health and social development NGO from Bangladesh. The delegation will be visiting Midcoast Maine after attending a UN Global Leadership Summit in New York. Dr. Shamim Hader, CEO, Founder and President of Eminence; Dr. Kazi Maraful Islam, Chairman of the Board and a Professor at Dhaka Medical College; and their colleagues will travel to Portland and to Camden to speak.

On Saturday, September 28, they will make a presentation at the Camden Public Library, 3:00-4:30 pm. The talk, followed by discussion, will focus on community health, social development, and welfare in Bangladesh.

“Eminence’s trip to Maine is a result of an effective global partnership in a world where people are struggling to work together,” explained Elizabeth McLellan, Founder and President of PWH. “It is an outcome of our medical missions to Bangladesh in partnership with Eminence.” PWH in partnership with Eminence has sent volunteer teams of doctors and nurses to Bangladesh three times over the last two years to provide healthcare to people that might otherwise not receive it, and medical education to under-resourced medical organizations. These teams are often accompanied by containers of donated medical supplies and equipment.
