Free concert featuring the Pollock String Quartet, 7:00 pm at the Camden Amphitheatre, hosted by the Camden Public Library with the support of Bay Chamber Concerts. Bring blankets or chairs for seating. The concert will be indoors in the case of rain. The concert is free but donations will be appreciated.
Friday, August 9
Gazebones Trombone Ensemble performs a free recital in the Camden Amphitheatre, 1:30 pm. Gazebones is a twelve-member trombone troupe from Massachusetts. Local slide trombonists of all ability levels are invited to bring a trombone, a music stand, and a lawn chair and sit in with the Gazebones.
Camden Walking Tour, 4:00 pm, hosted by the Camden Public Library and the Camden Downtown Business Group. The tour begins at the library, call 236-3440 to register.
Sunday, August 11
“Big Jam In The Park” concert 1:00 pm in the Camden Amphitheatre. Free jazz concert with Noah Plotkin, Jeff Densmore, Glen Dubois, Joel Watson, Tom Luther, Jason Dean, and Mike Whitehead. The concert is free but donations will be accepted. Come to dance or come to listen to big grooves that will inspire your soul and inspire your feet! This music will be groove oriented so that people will want to dance. It will have jazz elements and funky elements and a little reggae rhythm thrown in.

“The Mummy” (1999, PG-13, 124 minutes) free Monday Night Movie in the Park, 8:00 pm in the Camden Amphitheatre, presented by the Camden Public Library and Allen Insurance & Financial.

Elizabeth Macalaster, author of Reckoning at Hart’s Pass, with the book’s technical adviser FBI agent and Pacific Crest Trail thru-hiker Dan Sayner, will present a talk on the book and on the Pacific Crest Trail where the book takes place, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library.
Thursday, August 15
Dixie Swanson, author of The Accidental President series, will give a book talk at the Camden Public Library, 1:00 pm.
Simons and Goodwin return to Camden for a free performance in the Camden Amphitheatre, 7:00 pm, as part of the Summer Music Series of the Camden Public Library, supported in part by Allen Insurance and Financial. Simons and Goodwin perform popular acoustic and traditional songs and folk music, with great harmonies and guitar accompaniment.
Saturday, August 17
Children’s Book Fair, 1:00 to 4:00 pm, at the Camden Public Library, co-hosted by the Owl & Turtle Bookstore. Featuring popular Maine authors and illustrators.
Sunday, August 18
Barbara Kent Lawrence, author of Islands of Time, will give a book talk at the Camden Public Library at 2:00 pm. The story takes place on Mount Desert and Little Cranberry Islands.
Monday, August 19
Free movie, “Gold Diggers of 1933” (B&W, 97 min.), 7:45 pm in the Camden Amphitheatre. Bring blankets or chairs for seating. The movies are free but donations will be accepted, thanks! (This showing was re-scheduled from early July). Part of the library’s Monday Movies in the Park series, underwritten by Allen Insurance & Financial.

Tim Caverly presents “Allagash Tails and Tales” at the Camden Public Library, a multi-media presentation about one of our nation’s premiere Wild and Scenic Rivers, 7:00 pm.
