Seashore Trolley Museum Seeks Community Input on Educational Programs

Kennebunkport, Maine - As Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport approaches its 75th birthday in 2014, it is creating additional ways to reach out to the public.  Museum Staff is currently developing curricula for welding and restoration seminars to meet the interests and needs of community members.

Seashore’s Town House Restoration Shop is a perennial favorite stop for museum visitors. The welding and other restoration processes applied to vintage streetcars can also be used on cars, boats, other antique equipment, and in fabrication and customization projects.

Restoration seminars will address locating technical resource info, project planning, woodworking, metalworking, painting, and other related topics.  Welding seminars will cover MIG, TIG, ARC and oxy acetylene processes.

As the Museum’s Staff finalizes course content and schedules for seminars to be offered in its Town House Restoration Shop, Seashore is soliciting ideas from community members who may be interested in this training.  Input from hobbyists, artists, and those interested in customizing bicycles and other objects will help guide the course offerings.

Anyone who would like to suggest seminar topics or who would like to receive information about schedules or courses, should contact the Museum at director@neerhs.org or call 207-967-2800, Ext. 101.
