DECD Commissioner to Present Six Communities with Business Friendly Signage, Certification Monday, Dec. 17


Augusta, Maine - As part of the LePage Administration's commitment to ensuring Maine is open for business, the state's Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner George Gervais will present the communities of Auburn, Ellsworth, Fairfield, Kennebunk, Lewiston and Topsham with their "Certified Business Friendly Community" certificate and road signs Monday, Dec. 17.

City and town officials, along with community and business leaders, will attend the event to be held in the Hall of Flags at the State Capitol. Charles "Chip" Morrison, President of the Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce, will speak about the value of business-friendly communities to small businesses.

To date, a total of 18 cities and towns across the state have been declared a "Certified Business Friendly Community" for their continued focus on creating a better environment for private sector job growth.
