The Mondaynite Jazz Orchestra August 26

The Mondaynite Jazz Orchestra August 26

MOJO, The Mondaynite Jazz Orchestra, will perform a free, informal concert in the Camden Amphitheatre on Monday evening, August 26, at 6:15 pm. The Mondaynite Jazz Orchestra is a group of musicians from mid-coast Maine bound together by a passion for big band music and dedicated to playing every possible style from traditional, a la Count Basie and Duke Ellington, to rock, blues, and Latin. Bring blankets or chairs for seating.

The big band MOJO is one of the few 17-piece big bands in Maine. Band members hail from the midcoast area from Bath to Belfast, and, sharing a common passion for the genre, promote, preserve, and enjoy big band music. “While a good part of our library consists of traditional pieces,” says Ray Faria, “the brunt of it includes many contemporary arrangements and compositions, some homegrown by Maine composer/arrangers. Swing, blues, Latin, funk, ballads, dance and listening music are all well represented.”
