Rockland, ME—The participating galleries of Arts in Rockland will host a First Friday art walk and silent auction from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 7.
Local artists, galleries, and businesses have donated items for a silent auction to benefit Arts in Rockland and Rockland Main Street. The auction will kick off during the artwalk on Friday evening, December 7, at Yvette Torres Fine Art at 21 Winter Street and will continue through Friday, December 14. “This auction is truly a win-win-win,” says organizer Yvette Torres, “benefitting local artists, Arts in Rockland, and Rockland Main Street, who do so much throughout the year to keep our downtown thriving.” Artists who contribute to the auction have the option to receive a fifty-percent commission on auction sales with the remainder of proceeds going to support Arts in Rockland and Rockland Main Street.
Auction items will be on view and available for bidding at Yvette Torres Fine Art from 5 to 8 p.m. on December 7 and from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, and Sunday, December 9. The gallery will reopen for bidding from noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11 through Friday, December 14. An auction preview and online bidding is available at www.artsinrocklandauction.org and will be updated as donations are received. All bidding closes at 4 p.m. on Friday, December 14. Winning bidders will be notified that evening and can pick up their items at Yvette Torres Fine Art on Saturday, December 15, from noon to 4 p.m.
