Musician Spotlight: Rising Singer & Songwriter Chanel Loran

In Los Angeles, California there is a talented 11 year old following a dream of being a Singer and Songwriter. This 11 year old Singer and Songwriter is Chanel Loran whose singing caught our attention. Chanel is a young Singer and Songwriter whose career in music is just starting.

Chanel Loran (born Chanel Loran Rogers; April 17 2001) is an exceptionally talented singer, songwriter,actress, and dancer born in Pensacola, FL. Chanel Lóran now resides in Los Angeles, where she is making a name for herself in the entertainment industry. Chanel Lóran is a truly gifted singer with a true 4 octave range. Chanel Lóran musical influence includes: Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Michael Jackson among many other great artist.

Recently we had the chance to interview this young 11 year old, talented Singer and Songwriter Chanel Loran. Here are her answers to our questions.

When did you start singing?
Wow, I've been singing for as long as I can remember! So I am told that I have been singing since my first sounds.



Was it your dream to be a singer?
Definitely! Singing and music are just a part of the person I am.

Tell us about your style of singing?
My style of singing is pop with a soulful vibe.

Are there challenges pursuing a singing career?
Yes, it is a long road and a lot of work.

Does your parents and friends support you?
My family and friends have been awesome! Everyone around me is very supportive, I am so blessed.

Do you write your own songs?
I have co-written several songs that will be released early 2013. I am super excited about my upcoming EP, can't wait for the release!

If so, tell us what goes into writing a great song?
Wow, so much goes into a great song. A really great hook with a great beat, an experienced proven team to lead you, and last but not least the opportunity to present the song at the right time.

Where was your first performance, were you excited?
Yes, I was excited. At three years old I performed at a singing event in a mall in the Gulf Coast region of Florida.

Where have you been able to perform?
Most recently in front of the coaches for the "Voice" (Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, & Blake Shelton. Most memorable being the Lincoln Center in NY. Various festivals around the country with crowds in excess of 60,000. Of course at numerous occasions in and around Los Angeles area.

Who inspires you with your singing and songwriting?
Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Michael Jackson.

If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Staples Center Los Angeles or New Year's at Times Square. Super exciting crowds with great energy.

Along the same line, who would you love to perform with?
Mariah Carey or Nicki Minaj

What are some of your goals for your Music?
To be signed with a major label who believe's in me and one who can position me for success.

What do you hope to accomplish with your singing/songwriting?
To share my love of music and be a successful recording artist.

Do you have any advice for those wanting to start a career in singing and songwriting?
Work hard to improve and have a team of positive supporters.
