issued an air quality action day for the following counties...

Coastal Cumberland...Coastal Waldo...Coastal York...Knox...Lincoln...
Sagadahoc.

THE MAINE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION HAS ISSUED AN AIR
QUALITY ALERT FOR MONDAY JUNE 18 FOR THE COAST FROM KITTERY THROUGH
ACADIA NATIONAL PARK.

PEOPLE WITH RESPIRATORY OR HEART DISEASE, THE
ELDERLY, CHILDREN, TEENAGERS AND ACTIVE ADULTS SHOULD LIMIT
PROLONGED OR HEAVY EXERTION.

IT IS OKAY TO BE ACTIVE OUTSIDE BUT TAKE MORE BREAKS AND DO LESS
INTENSE ACTIVITIES. WATCH FOR SYMPTOMS SUCH AS COUGHING OR
SHORTNESS OF BREATH. ASTHMATICS SHOULD FOLLOW THEIR ACTION PLANS
AND KEEP QUICK RELIEVE MEDS HANDY. THOSE WITH A HEART DISEASE
SHOULD WATCH FOR PALPITATIONS, SHORTNESS OF BREATH OR UNUSUAL
FATIGUE AND CONTACT YOUR HEALTH PROVIDER IF NECESSARY.

Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5pm. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Southwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Showers and thunderstorms before 1am, then a chance of showers between 1am and 4am. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Low around 63. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
