Baxter Boulevard Night Work
Baxter Blvd. closed from Preble Street Extension to Forest Avenue sarting June 12 at 7 PM.
PORTLAND, Maine -- Beginning Tuesday, June 12, 2018, the City and Portland Water District's Bedford Street project will begin installing new storm drain in Baxter Boulevard. This work will be completed at night to reduce day time impacts to traffic.
IMPORTANT INFO FOR MOTORISTS: Baxter Boulevard will be closed from Preble Street Extension to Forest Avenue on a nightly basis for the next three weeks. The closure will be between 7:00 pm and 7:00 am. The roadway will reopen at 7:00 am each morning. Motorists will be directed to use Preble Street Extension as a detour route while this section of Baxter Boulevard is closed.
The contractor will be working within this zone between 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM.
IMPORTANT INFO FOR PEDESTRIANS: The contractor will be adjusting sidewalk crossings to complete the work. Please follow signage.
SEEK ALTERNATE ROUTE, IF POSSIBLE, TO AVOID DELAYS
Motorists are urged, if possible, to seek alternate routes into and around this area and to be aware of nightly traffic control pattern adjustments to complete the work.
