SPRINGVALE - The York County CareerCenter, located at 9 Bodwell Court in Springvale, continues its workshop programs for job seekers and those considering training to upgrade their skills and increase their employability.
"Maine's tight labor market means there are ample opportunities out there to find a new or better job, especially as we head into our summer tourism season," said Governor Paul R. LePage. "CareerCenters will help you conduct an effective job search, improve your resume or application, and prepare for that all-important interview. Contact your local CareerCenter today."
CareerCenters can assist businesses by offering workshops on location, at local businesses or other organizations at no cost. The following workshops and programs will be held at the CareerCenter in Springvale unless otherwise noted.
**Essentials of College Planning Workshop - Mondays, June 11 and 18, 10 a.m. to 12 noon**
A FREE interactive workshop that outlines the four steps in the college process: admissions, financial aid, career planning, and study skills. The workshop lasts approximately two to three hours. **GATEways to Employment - Wednesday, June 6, 9 a.m. to noon**
Join this workshop for a basic overview of CareerCenter Services as well as resume, interview and job search skills. Gateway to Employment gives an overview of basic information on Resumes, Interviews and Job Search skills as well as CareerCenter and community resources available to you during your job search. **Resume and Interview Coaching - Tuesday, June 19, 9 a.m. to noon**
Your resume is your marketing tool that helps you land the all-important interview. Join us and learn the dos and don'ts of resume writing and how to stand out in a positive way. **York County Monthly Job Fair at the CareerCenter - Monday, June 25, 1 to 4 p.m.**
