The crash investigation is on-going at this time awaiting an appropriate time to talk to the driver’s who were both seriously injured and life-flighted to a hospital in Portland.
At this time we know that a 2007 GMC truck, operated by Wyatt Weaver, 33, of Thomaston lost control of his vehicle travelling south and crossed over the center line, striking a 2012 Volkswagen, travelling north being operated by Brianna Widdecombe, 21, of Cushing. Weaver’s vehicle was braking and sideways as it struck Widdecombe’s vehicle head-on with its passenger side. Weaver and Widdecombe were both life-flighted with serious injuries. A passenger, Caleb Bixby, 22, of Cushing was transported to Miles Memorial Hospital with complaints of pain, not known at this time.
Both vehicles were totaled in the crash. It is believed speed and possibly alcohol are factors of the crash.
