Camden Public Library Events November 17 through December 1

Thursday, November 17

The Midcoast Audubon Society presents Howie Nielsen on “Bird Life and Conservation in the Kingdom of Cambodia,” hosted by Midcoast Audubon Society, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library.


Saturday, November 19

Simply Books Club, 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, simply bring along whatever book you’re currently reading and share it with the group. All are welcome!

Midcoast women are invited to participate in an informal “Pantsuit Nation” discussion regarding their role in the future of the community, both locally and nationally. The discussion is inspired by #PantsuitNation, and will take place at 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, to brainstorm ideas for positive action.


Sunday, November 20

Cyber Sunday topic is “Staying Safe Online,” all are welcome, 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Cyber Sundays is a series of weekly technology classes led by Technology Coordinator Olga Zimmerman.


Monday, November 21

Free Medicare information session offered by United Healthcare at the Camden Public Library, 10:00 am, covering Medicare choices, with answers to questions about Medicare Advantage Plans.


Tuesday, November 22

Leer y charlar is Read and chat – entirely in Spanish! 1:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, all who are proficient in Spanish are welcome.

Encore presentation of  “A Place Called Humbravana,” a gallery talk by Rose Willson, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, to accompany the display of the artwork of Camden artist Imero Gobbato (1923-2010).


Sunday, November 27

Cyber Sunday topic is “Accessibility Features of an iPad/iPhone,” all are welcome, 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Cyber Sundays is a series of weekly technology classes led by Technology Coordinator Olga Zimmerman.

Tibetan Buddhist master Geshe Gehlek will give a talk on “Awakening Compassion,” 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, presented by the Rockland Shambhala Meditation Center.


Monday, November 28

Tuesday, November 29

Rhonda Feinman will give a talk on “Embrace the Season: Winter,” a Community Health Topic presented by the Journey to Health program of Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital. The talk will be at 6:30 pm at the Camden Public Library. Feinman, licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist, will show Chinese medicine practices and Qi-gong movements that can help strengthen the immune system and support emotional and physical balance.


Thursday, December 1

Author Malia Dell offers “Food That Works: Real Meals to Survive the 9 to 5,” at the Camden Public Library, 7:00 pm. Dell will talk about sustainable, healthy eating for anyone interested in making better choices in the way you eat, food, shop, and organize your fridge, no matter how busy your schedule. She will share tips and discuss the environmental impacts of food waste and plastic, and how we can all become more conscious consumers. Books will be available for sale and signing.
