Hundreds Lined Rockland Main Street For Annual Parade Of Lights

Rockland, Maine - Saturday night, November 26th, 2016 featured the annual Parade of Lights at 6:00pm where hundreds of young and old lined main street in Rockland, Maine under cloudy skies. The lead sponsor for the Festival of Lights parade was the The FIRST  NationalBank.

Parade-goers were encouraged to stay for the second pass where they can get up close to each float and bring canned goods and non-perishable food to use as your VOTE for the "People’s Choice" by leaving your cans at their favorite. Hot chocolate was available at strategic locations along Main Street.

The parade and all festival of lights event are produced by Rockland Main Street Inc.

Parade winners:
MOST LIGHTS FLOAT: Shepard Motors
MOST CREATIVE FLOAT: Global Packing & Shipping
BEST COMMERCIAL FLOAT: Sterling Elite
And selected as the PEOPLE'S CHOICE FLOAT award for the biggest collection of canned goods and non-perishable food with nearly 500 items, was the Girl Scouts of Knox County! All the donated food was collected and transported to the Salvation Army Food Pantry.
