Owls Head, Maine - The Owls Head Transportation Museum is pleased to offer an exciting array of children’s activities during February school vacation week.  Beginning on Monday, Feb. 15 and extending through Friday, Feb. 19 the Museum will host workshops for students beginning at 10:00 a.m. each day.

Designed for youth ages six to 14, these fun educational workshops are free to the public and materials are provided. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged as seating is limited, children participating in vacation week activities must be accompanied by an adult.

The schedule is as follows:

Monday 15 Paper Airplane Workshop

Open to a variety of skill levels, these paper airplanes range from the usual to some exotic gliders that
fly on a wave of air.

Tuesday 16 Air Powered Cars

Join us in building your own toy, propeller driven car. Participants will have the opportunity to test their cars in the Museum.

Wednesday 17 Stick and Tissue Airplanes
The Stick and Tissue Airplane Workshop is a perennial favorite at OHTM! Students will build their own flying model airplanes using balsa sticks, tissue paper, glue and a rubber band.
Thursday 18 Electric Cars
Participants will each build a small electric car and then have the opportunity to test their creations in the Museum.
Friday 19 Hot Air Balloons
Students will build their own colorful, working hot air balloons with tissue paper and glue, before testing their balloons inside the Museum using a heat gun.
While the Winter Vacation Week activities are free, admission for visitors wishing to view the museum is $14 for adults ($10 for visitors over 65).  Children and youth under 18 are admitted free of charge.
