HS Boys Basketball: Oceanside JV, Varsity Sweeps Gardiner, Seniors Honored

Rockland, Maine - It was a great night for Oceanside High School boys junior varsity and varsity basketball teams swept Gardiner Senior High School on Thursday, February 4th, 2016 in Rockland, Maine. Oceanside seniors were honored before the varsity game.

In the junior varsity game Oceanside was victories against Gardiner Senior High School by a score of 56-48. Scorers were Hunter Davis 7pts, 3pts from a three pointer and two foul shots, Jacob Curtis 4pts, Jack Freeman with 8pts from foul shots, Amos Anderson 5pts, 3pts from a three pointer, Josh Peaco 7pts, 5pts from foul shots, Cody Dorr 3pts, 1 foul shot point, Leo Reid 4pts and Cooper Wirkala 19pts with one three pointer and 6pts from foul shots.

Scorers for Gardiner were Cam Austin, Cole Lawrence and Joe Albert with 2pts each, Collin Foye 8pts, Chandler Moran 2pts from foul shots, Ben Babcock 7pts, 1pt from foul shot, Kyle Johnson 7pts, 1pt from foul shot and two three pointers and Connor McGuire 18pts, 3pts from a three pointer and one foul shot.
Before the varsity game, Oceanside High School seniors Keenan Hendricks, Josh Luttrell, Jake
Bartlett, Andrew King, Nicolas Tinker, Riley Sprague, Christian Straka and Nick Mazurek were honored. This was their last regular game of the season before play offs. Also, two senior cheerleaders were honored.

Oceanside was able to win the varsity game by a score of 62-51. Scorers were Keenan Hendricks 21pts, 9pts from three pointers and 2 foul shots, Josh Luttrell 2pts, Andrew King 4pts, 2pts from foul shots, Nate Raye 5pts, 3pts from foul shots, Riley Sprague 5pts, 3pts from a three pointer, Mike Norton 3pts, 1pt from foul shot, Christian Straka 2pts from foul shots, Sam Atwood 3pts from a three pointer and Nick Mazurek with 16pts, 9pts from three pointers and one foul shot point.

Gardiner scorers were Isaiah Magee 2pts, Liang-Shi Lin 3pts from a three pointer, Cole Heaberlin 2pts, Connor McGuire 4pts, 2pts from foul shots, Brian Dunn 7pts, 3pts from a three pointer and 2 foul shots, Camden Gregory 2pts, Eli Fish 6pts, 2pts from foul shots, Hunter Chase 5pts, 3pts from a three pointer, Ben Shaw 2pts and Jordan Lamb with 18pts, 4pts from foul shots.

During the halftime of the varsity, The First presented a check for 2,150 dollars to the Athletic Director.
