Margitza won the conference hammer throw title with a top effort of 178-11 and took first place in the shot put for the second straight year, at 51-2.25. The honors give Margitza five for his career.

Junior captain Jeffrey Jones (College Station, Ga.) won his first All-NESCAC honor, after setting a personal record and moving into second place on Bates' all-time performance list in the triple jump with a top effort of 47 feet, 1.5 inches.

Four more Bobcats earned All-NESCAC honors for placing third in the 4x800 relay race in 7:43.24. Senior Gregg Heller (Walla Walla, Wash.), sophomore Rob Flynn (Bedford, N.H.), sophomore Jack Kiely (Severna Park, Md.) and junior captain Patrick Griffin (Harvard, Mass.) all receive the first All-NESCAC honors of their careers.
