Terrier Women's Soccer Falls to NAC Co-Leaders Castleton, 4-0

WATERVILLE, ME --- The Thomas College women's soccer team was shutout by Castleton University, 4-0, on Sunday in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup at Smith Field.

The loss drops the Terriers to 6-6 (3-2 NAC) on the season while the Spartans improve to 8-6 (6-0 NAC) in the victory.

The Spartans opened the scoring at the 16th minute when Eva Clark beat Terrier keeper Paige Leary

Less the five minutes into the second half, Clark completed the hat trick on a pass from Bronwen Hopwood.  Just six minutes later, Shelby McLenithan beat Leary on the right side just inside the post to push the Spartan lead to 4-0.

Leary was given the loss in her 14 save performance while Jessica Binkowski made four saves in the win before being relieved by Kasie Wilk.  The Spartans held a 29-6 shot advantage over the Terriers for the contest.

The Terriers will return to the pitch on Thursday, October 15, when they travel to the University of Maine at Farmington for a 3:15 P.M. North Atlantic Conference contest.
