BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College first-year Noah Nelson (Falmouth, Maine) has been named Offensive Player of the Week by the New England Small College Athletic Conference.
Nelson was outstanding in his first career start at quarterback on
Saturday against Hamilton, completing 28 of 43 passes for 328 yards and
four touchdowns in a 30-20 victory. His yardage (328) and touchdown
passes (4) were both first-year records for a Polar Bear. He completed
passes to seven different receivers and also completed a two-point
conversion in the win.
Nelson is the first Bowdoin quarterback to earn NESCAC Offensive Player
of the Week recognition since Oliver Kell, who claimed the award in
November of 2009. Kell was also the last Bowdoin rookie quarterback to
garner the award, in 2006.
