The Polar Bears improve to 13-4 (7-1 NESCAC) and control their own destiny for the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament. Williams falls to 14-6 (6-2 NESCAC).
How It Happened
- Bowdoin controlled the first two sets, sprinting to a 2-0 lead before Williams rallied to force a deciding fifth as the Polar Bears finally pulled out a 25-18, 25-18, 15-25, 23-25, 15-13
- In the tiebreaking fifth, Bowdoin never trailed, taking a 3-0 lead and sustaining the advantage throughout
- The Polar Bears extended their advantage to 14-10 before Williams trimmed the lead to 14-13
- Erika Sklaver put home the final point of the contest from Quincy Leech to clinch the victory
- Christy Jewett put home a match-high 17 kills and had 14 digs for Bowdoin
- Quincy Leech had six kills, 41 assists, 16 digs and three blocks in the victory
- Hailey Wahl led Bowdoin with four aces while Katie Doherty had 32 digs
- Tori Jasuta and Morgan Richman paced Williams with 15 kills
- Bowdoin takes a break from conference play next week as they travel to play at the UMass Boston Invitational on Friday and Saturday, opening against Clark on Friday at 5:00 p.m.
