Bangor, Maine - The Eagles officially open preseason camp Sunday evening, almost three weeks prior to hosting Alfred (N.Y.) in the season opener.
Head Coach Gabby Price is expected to welcome 120 student-athletes to campus Saturday in preparation for the team's first practice at the Winkin Sports Complex.
The Eagles feature nearly 75 returning letterwinners from a year ago, including 15 position starters.
The Eagles' opener vs. Alfred is scheduled Saturday, Sept. 5 in Winkin Sports Complex. Kickoff is 12 p.m., ET.
Price is eager to see the Eagles back in uniform and evaluate their development since winning the ECFC title and appearing in the NCAA Division III National Championship last season.
Price expects a lot of energy from the entire squad and a very competitive camp. Every member of our team will be competing for starting jobs and important roles.
With staging limited gear practices through Wednesday, the Eagles are expected to move into full pads on Thursday, then stage their first scrimmage on Sunday, Aug. 23.
Media Day press conference scheduled Monday, Aug. 31
Price and the 2015 team captains will talk about the upcoming season with media outlets and HussonEagles.com Monday, Aug. 31, at 12 p.m. at the team's annual Media Day activity.
Josiah Hartley (Sr., WR), Rick Orio (Jr., safety), Ellis Throckmorton (Jr./LB) and Matt Archer (Sr., center) are expected to participate in the press conference.
Price's remarks along with the players' comments will be aired after the press conference on HussonEagles.
Picture Day also on tap
Barring inclement weather, the Eagles will stage individual, team and position group photos Saturday, Aug. 29.
