Rockland, Maine - Amy Allen and her band Amy & The Engine sounded wonderful as they performed on main stage during the 68th annual Maine Lobster Festival on Saturday, August 1st, 2015 in Rockland, Maine.
Hailing from South Portland, Maine, frontwoman Amy Allen began her love affair with music when she picked up the guitar at age nine. Allen has released three solo EPs and after appearing on The Voice, enrolled in Berklee College of Music to study songwriting. There she met her “engine” – an eclectic group of guys who would become her supporting outfit – and Amy & The Engine was born.
Founded just over one year ago, the indie-pop band has opened for acts the likes of Vance Joy, Rachel Platten, The Veronicas, Kacey Musgraves and more, and has impressed audiences with performances at VH1’s Save The Music Foundation, NYC’s CMJ Music Marathon and Boston's Listen Local. Their 50s-inspired single/video "Last Forever" dropped Valentine's Day with exclusive features on Teen Vogue and Entertainment Weekly.
