Owls Head Transportation Museum now inviting consignments for 37th Annual New England Auto Auction

Owls Head, Maine - The Owls Head Transportation Museum will host its 37th Annual New England Auto Auction of antique, classic, and special-interest vehicles on Saturday, August 16, 2014. Previously featured in The Wall Street Journal and Hemmings Motor News, the Auction is recognized as ‘the real thing,’ offering up to 200 vehicles of ‘great variety.’

Are you selling a special car? Considering your options for doing so? The Museum’s auction staff would love to talk with you about early consignment for your vehicle in the Auction. Acting now to secure your place in 2014 Auction lineup will enable you to benefit from our vast schedule of pre-sale promotions, which include advertisements and editorial features in a broad range of national and regional publications, as well as the Museum’s own array of dedicated print materials and social-media campaigns. Your early commitment allows us to maximize our resources to better showcase your vehicle, garnering greater interest from potential buyers worldwide. As space in the Auction is limited to 200 vehicles, time is of the essence in claiming your spot.

August 11 begins Auction Preview Week, during which consigned vehicles will be on prominent display at the Museum. This time allows both the press and potential buyers to inspect vehicles in advance of the Auction. Additionally, the presale display assures each vehicle’s maximal visibility during the busy summer season.

The Annual New England Auto Auction is the Owls Head Transportation Museum’s single largest yearly fundraising event. By consigning your vehicle to be offered for sale at the Auction, you are not only maximizing exposure and potential sale price, but also honoring the important work of the Owls Head Transportation Museum as an educational and cultural institution, dedicated to the preservation and conservation of antique transportation.

Vehicles sold in 2013’s Auction included, among many others, a stunning 1960 Jaguar XK150 Drophead Coupe, a 1930 Ford Model A Sport Coupe, a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Convertible, and a 1973 Triumph X-75 Hurricane motorcycle.

The Owls Head Transportation Museum is now accepting consignments on classic, antique, and special-interest vehicles to sell at the 37th Annual New England Auto Auction.
