Hans Bengtsson will present a slide talk on his ten-day cross-country ski trip above the Arctic Circle on the border of Sweden and Norway. He returned with incredible photographs of the journey. “My ski buddy and I decided that we should check out my old touring grounds from when I lived in Sweden,” he explained. “We spent 10 days in May, 2007, on a XC-ski trip in the Swedish/Norwegian border area southeast of Narvik, Norway; some 120 miles north of the Arctic Circle. The latitude pretty much corresponds to the Brooks Range, Alaska. We skied around 120 km (70 miles) and stayed in huts. After returning to the Stockholm area we attended a large orienteering relay (some 10,000 runners).” The slide talk will be at the Camden Public Library on Tuesday, February 25, at 7:00 pm.Friday, February 7, 2014
