Rock Coast Rollers are thrilled to present “The Perfect Storm: The Adventure Begins,” a not-to-be-missed battle between its all-star travel team, The Perfect Storm, and Boston Derby Dames’s the Wicked Pissahs. Watch the two teams face off for the first time at the Midcoast Recreation Center on Saturday, August 17. Doors open at 5 p.m. First whistle at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $6 in advance, $8 at the door. Kids 12 and under are free. Purchase tickets online through Brown Paper Tickets (theadventurebegins.brownpapertickets.com) or at the following local vendors: Atlantic Baking, Belfast Co-Op, Clean Bee Laundry, Good Tern Co-Op, the Midcoast Recreation Center, Rock City Café, Rock City Cycle. After the bout, join the Wicked Pissahs and the Perfect Storm for drinks and dancing at Billy’s Tavern in Thomaston.
The Rock Coast Rollers have had an incredibly fruitful 2013 season: The league traveled to Providence in May for the Northeast Derby Convention, where they sharpened their skills with some of the best coaches in the nation. They’ve had intra-league bouts (Golden Gales vs. Dreadnaughts) as well as inter-league bouts like the Maine Event Double Header, where they competed against Maine Roller Derby (Portland) and Central Maine Derby (Bangor). Last month they traveled to Moncton, New Brunswick for the Muddy River Murder Tournament, a series of 20-minute bouts among 10 teams, and then to Providence, where RCR’s all-star travel team, The Perfect Storm, competed with Providence Roller Derby’s Killah Bees.
The Adventure Begins will be RCR’s final home bout for the 2013 season.
