Ellsworth, Maine - The Grand welcomes the Bangor Ballet for one performance of their brand-new adaptation of the classic fairy tale “Snow White” on Sunday, April 14th at 1:30pm.
Founded in 1994 as Bangor Youth Ballet with a premiere performance of Cinderella (featuring original choreography by Ivy Forrest), Bangor Ballet has presented a major production in the spring of each year and this year brings to the Grand “Snow White”. Choreographed by Thomas School of Dance faculty members Serena and Cassandra Lovett, the ballet uses well known and less well known classical music to tell the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Bangor Ballet company members and students from Thomas School of Dance and other local dance studios will depict the familiar characters of Snow White, the Evil Queen, the Huntsman who spares Snow White’s life, the Prince and the Seven Dwarves as well as shadows, trees and wind and a variety of forest creatures including birds, bunnies, a squirrel, a deer and even a skunk!
The Downeast Kids Chorus, under the direction of Paul Sullivan, will open the show on Sunday, with a 20-minute performance by 15 young choristers of songs learned over the past few weeks.
Tickets are $14 for General Admission and $7 for Students (12 and under) for Bangor Ballet’s “Snow White” with a special showcase performance before the ballet by The Downeast Kids Chorus.
