“Treat the Cause”

“Treat the Cause” Wellness Talk May 13

Dr. Barbara MacDonald will give a talk on “Treat the Cause: What is Naturopathic Medicine and How Can It Help Me Reach My Healthcare Goals?” at the Camden Public Library at 12:00 noon on Monday, May 13. The talk is part of the Wellness series co-hosted by the library and the Pen Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce. MacDonald will share how licensed naturopathic doctors can help you reach your health and wellness goals by getting to the root cause of illness and treating the whole person using natural methods. She will answer questions about what a licensed naturopath does and doesn’t do in practice, how they are trained, what their scope of practice includes, what they can prescribe, and how they work with other types of healthcare practitioners in the community. You will learn about how herbal and homeopathic medicine, nutritional counseling, physical medicine, laboratory testing methods, mental-emotional, and energetic modalities are used within the system of naturopathic medicine.

MacDonald will share how her life experiences, personal health challenges, and her patients have inspired her throughout her 15 years as a holistic primary care doctor. You are invited to bring questions as well as concerns and create a dialogue about the role of integrative healthcare in our area.
