Stage Adaptation of Dicken's Classic to Hit the Screen in HD

Damariscottia, Maine - For the very first time, the Dickens classic Great Expectations will be staged in London's West End, and audiences will be able to view the production in HD at Damariscotta's Lincoln Theater on Saturday March 30 at 1 PM. This is the first time this great story has been produced for The West End or Broadway, as it was widely believed to be too difficult to translate to stage. However, this Jo Clifford adaptation has been universally acclaimed as a triumph on its sellout tour of the UK ahead of its West End debut. Director Graham Maclaren's 'outstanding' 'haunting' and 'utterly brilliant' production brings some of the most memorable characters ever created to life. The beautiful, chilling Estella, the terrifying convict Magwitch, the manipulative Jaggers, the tragic and mysterious Miss Havisham, and Pip looking back on his young self - a boy with "great expectations." This momentous event is the culmination of the international Dickens bicentenary celebrations and follows the play's highly acclaimed UK tour.

Lincoln Theater in Damariscotta will be screening this production for the general public on Saturday March 30th at 1 PM.  Tickets are $15 adults. A special school group screening of Great Expectations with be held on Thursday, April 11th at 10 AM at the theater.  We invite teachers (with a guest) who are interested in bringing school groups to preview the production by attending on March 30th as our guests.
