CAMDEN PUBLIC LIBRARY CALENDAR OF EVENTS, April 4 through April 20


Thursday, April 4

Camden Library Coffeehouse features Ed Geis & Friends, 7:00 pm. The evening’s music will include a mix of original compositions, western folk tunes, and more. Will Brown and David Foley join Ed Geis to create a dynamic trio playing a host of stringed instruments including guitar, laud, and baritone guitar. Admission is $7/$5 seniors.


Saturday, April 6

Simply Books Club, 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Simply bring along whatever book you’re currently reading and share it with the group. Call 236-3440 for more information.


Monday, April 8

Tami Rogers presents An Introduction to Reiki at 12:00 noon at at the Camden Public Library, part of the Wellness Brown Bag Lunch Series co-sponsored with the PenBay Regional Chamber of Commerce.


Tuesday, April 9

Regular meeting of the Reading Group of the Camden Philosophical Society, 4:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. The group will discuss philosophical readings concerning art, the art world, and philosophy of art. The focus this month will be on dance. Everyone with an interest in reading and discussion are welcome. For more information contact info@philosophyedge.com.

“Advanced Investing,” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, part of the Financial Literacy series, led by Lowrie Sargent of Better Investing. All are welcome. Co-sponsored by Camden National Bank.


Thursday, April 11

“Around the World in 14 Months,” 7:00 at the Camden Public Library. Doug Sensenig and Jennifer Bell will present a slide talk on their family’s trip around the world by ships, planes, trains, and automobiles with their 13 year old daughter. Travels included England, France, Italy, Slovenia, Greece, Turkey, India, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Australia, and New Zealand, with significant stops in Croatia, Singapore, and Fiji. They will show slides while discussing how they planned the journey, what they saw, and how it changed their lives.


Tuesday, April 16

Bruce Bourque, Maine State Archeologist, on his book, The Swordfish Hunters, about Maine’s paleo-Indians. At the Camden Public Library, 7:00 pm, part of the library’s Maritime Month.


Thursday, April 18

“Avian Haven” presented by the Midcoast Audubon Society and Diane Winn and Marc Payne, about their work at the year-round wild bird rehabilitation center in Freedom. 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library.


Saturday, April 20

Spring Cleanup Day in Camden Park and Amphitheatre, 9:00 to noon. Volunteers are needed, bring gloves and rakes and meet Dave Jackson in the park.

Star gazing party on top of Beech Hill in Rockport, co-sponsored by Coastal Mountains Land Trust and the Camden Public Library, 6:30-8:30 pm.
