Nominees for District Court Judge Now Being Accepted

Augusta, Maine - Governor Paul R. LePage today announced that his Judicial Selection Committee is accepting applications for candidates interested in serving as a District Court Judge.

“My administration has appointed a number of great Mainers to serve in the third branch of government. I look forward to nominating another high quality candidate for the bench,” said Governor LePage.

The vacancy to be filled is the result of the retirement of District Court Judge John V. Romei, whose term expires June 26, 2013. The Governor’s Judicial Selection Committee will accept applications until April 15th.   Application materials are online at http://www.maine.gov/governor/lepage/cabinet/appointments/process.shtml.

Pursuant to Maine law, the appointee is required to reside in Washington County at the time of appointment.
