Upcoming Boothbay Region Land Trust events for the end of June

Wednesday, June 19
Babes in the Woods
From 10 - 11 am, join the Boothbay Region Land Trust at the Gregory Hiking Trail,at 2 Sawyer's Island Rd, Boothbay.  Babes in the Woods is a nature discovery program geared to children ages 2-5 with their families or caregivers. Participate in age-appropriate games, crafts, stories and other activities to connect to the natural world. Special emphasis is made on sensory exploration of ecological themes and usually includes a short and easy walk. Group meets at the kiosk near the parking lot. This event is free and registration is not required. Please wear sturdy shoes and clothing that can get muddy. Forest Bathing Walk at Porter Preseerve
From 10 - 11#) am, join the Boothbay Region Land Trust at the Porter Preserve, Kimballtown Rd, Trevett.  Celebrate the summer solstice and the return of daylight on an Introduction to Forest Bathing walk. Discover the health boosting benefits of moving slowly and mindfully through the forest. Open your senses and connect with the natural world through a series of invitations designed to enhance your health, wellness, and happiness. This leisurely walk covers less then a mile of trail and allows time for reflection and connection. This walk will be led by Boothbay Region Land Trust Environmental Educator and Certified Forest Therapy Guide Tracey Hall. Registration is required for this free event, and group size is limited to 10 people. Register by contacting Tracey at thall@bbrlt.org or 633-4818.

Trail Mixer at Gregory Hiking Trail
From 10 - 1 am, join the Boothbay Region Land Trust at the Gregory Hiking Trail, 2 Sawyer's Island Rd, Boothbay.  Discover the Land Trust preserves and meet fellow hikers! These reoccurring walks highlight subtle changes through the seasons, while allowing plenty of time to enjoy vistas and conversation. Our knowledgeable volunteers lead participants on a leisurely paced hike averaging one or two miles in length on easy to moderate terrain. Trail mixer locations rotate among the preserves of our region. Participants may attend one hike or several. The group meets at the trail-head parking lot and registration is not required. Wildflower Walk at Oak Point Farm
From 9 - 10:30 am join the Boothbay Region Land Trust at Oak Point Farm, 60 Samoset Rd, Boothbay Harbor.  Early summer brings a burst of beautiful wildflowers to the fields and forests of the Boothbay Region. Discover our local plants with Botanist and BRLT Board member, Lauren Stockwell during this easy guided walk at Oak Point Farm. Learn to identify some of our common wildflowers while observing the unique features of each plant. This event is limited to 12 participants with registration required.
