Dark Follies at Camden

Born of a love of street theater and variety show performance, Dark Follies began bringing its special brand of street Vaudeville to Portland’s summer First Friday Art Walk nights in 2008. It has since evolved into an award-winning vaudeville-style variety show which they will perform at the Camden Public Library Amphitheatre on Thursday, July 13, at 7:00 pm. This event marks the Midcoast debut of Dark Follies!

Family friendly while still keeping an edge, Dark Follies features the live music of the Dark Follies Rhythm Orchestra, with dancing, juggling, storytelling, side show acts, flow artists, fire performers, and more. Whether performing in the town square, on the theater stage, or your corner coffee house, each Dark Follies show is a unique blend of performance arts. You won’t want to miss it! The Dark Follies continue to surprise, entertain, and delight audiences in the street and on the stage.

The Dark Follies is part of the Camden Public Library Movies & Music series, which is sponsored by Camden National Bank. Additional support provided by Mid-Coast Limo.

Additional concerts in the Thursday-night series include Jake Irish & Between Dead Stations on August 10 at 7:00 pm, Novel Jazz on August 17 at 7:00 pm, Quantum Electronica on August 20 at 1:00 pm, Sally Rogers & Claudia Schmidt on August 24 at 7:00, and Clio & Hannah Berta, "Lost & Found: a Performance, Music, and Installation" on August 29 at 7:00. All concerts take place in the Library Amphitheatre and are free, except for Sally & Claudia, which will be indoors in the Picker Room and tickets will be sold for $12. Tickets are available now, at the library circulation desk.
