Camden Public Library Events June 2 through June 16

Thursday, June 2

Camden Library Coffeehouse features the annual “Songwriters’ Coffeehouse,” 7:00 pm, with the musicians of the Songwriters Sessions led by David Dodson with Rachel and John Nicholas. The group has been producing original work that spans styles from singer-songwriter, to blues, ballads, love songs, and more. $5 donation at the door.


Saturday, June 4

Indoor Book Sale at the Camden Public Library, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, to benefit the book fund and programs at the library. Come browse for treasures and pleasures in an excellent collection of hardcovers, paperbacks, and DVDs.


Sunday, June 5

Indoor Book Sale continues at the Camden Public Library, 1:00 to 4:00 pm, to benefit the book fund and programs at the library.

“Smartphone Photo Management” Cyber Sunday tech session at the Camden Public Library,  2:00 pm, led by Olga Zimmerman, all are welcome.


Tuesday, June 7

An illustrated talk on “Protecting the Megunticook Watershed” will be presented at the Camden Public Library by Paul Leeper, Executive Director of the Megunticook Watershed Association (MWA), 7:00 pm. All are welcome.


Thursday, June 9

Japan slide talk -- The eighth-grade students of the Camden Rockport Middle School engage in a cultural exchange program with a sister city in Japan each year. The students have returned and are inviting members of the community to a slide show about their Japan adventures, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library.


Sunday, June 12

“Buying a Computer” Cyber Sunday session, 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, featuring a Q&A session with a guest speaker. All are welcome


Monday, June 13

“Healing the Heart Through Writing” presented by Kathrin Seitz, MFA, hosted by Destination Wellness Midcoast Maine, 12:00 noon at the Camden Public Library. Studies have shown that when people are given the opportunity to write about physical and emotional upheavals, they often experience improved health.


Tuesday, June 14

Leer y charlar is Read and chat, entirely in Spanish! All who are fluent in Spanish are welcome, 1:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. 

Tuesday Book Club at the Camden Public Library will discuss “The Road to Little Dribbling: Adventures of an American in Britain,” by Bill Bryson, 1:00 pm. All are welcome, for more information call 230-8516.

Reading Group of the Camden Philosophical Society, 4:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, all who enjoy a good discussion are welcome.

Book launch for Paul Doiron’s newest book in the Mike Bowditch saga, “Widowmaker,” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Doiron will give a reading and talk about his writing and the crime series. Sherman’s Books will have books on hand for signing and purchase at the launch.

Ranked-Choice Voting referendum informational session, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, presented by FairVote Maine, a non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to improving democracy through public education.
