HS Girl's Soccer: Morse and Maranacook Tie

Bath, Maine - Morse hosted Maranacook on Friday night and was unable to score but also held their opponents for a 0 - 0 tie.

Morse held territorial advantage for most of the game but was unable to find the back of the net. Several corner kicks by Emma Rossetti led to goal mouth opportunities for Morse but each time Maranacook cleared the goal line just in time.  Again the back line of Noa Sreden, Rossetti, Mae Winglass and Hope Faulkingham seldom allowed Maranacook past midfield.  When the ball did make in beyond the defense they quickly recovered consistently minimizing the threat to Marrissa Parks.

The woodwork kept a second half shot by Aubrey Martin out of the vistor's net which helped the visitors force the overtime.

The best scoring opportunity came in the first OT when a Rossetti corner was judged not to be fully over the line before the Maranacook defense cleared the danger.

Next for Morse is Belfast at home on Tuesday at 3:30 (time change).
