BANGOR, Maine - Libby Kain scored the golden goal in the 81st minute of overtime Saturday, leading Husson to a 1-0 win over Maine-Farmington in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play at Winkin Sports Complex. The Eagles win their ninth-straight game (including playoffs) against a league foe.
Husson (3-5, 2-0 NAC) wins its second-straight game 1-0 in extra time over Maine-Farmington (5-2, 1-1 NAC) after defeating the Beavers in the 2014 NAC Tournament title game in double overtime.
After a scoreless regulation, Hanna Jordan found Kain (2), who beat Patty Smith for the game-winner.
The Eagles outshot the Beavers 35-6 and held an edge in penalty corners 30-8.
Taylor Lovley had a game-high 11 shots and six shots on goal. Kayla Royer and Mikayla Toth each had six shots.
Goalkeeper Anne Marie Provencal made one save in the win.
Smith had 21 saves in defeat.
Husson hosts Colby (Maine) on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. ET.
