Falmouth, Maine - The Maine State Ballet is holding auditions for its holiday classic, The Nutcracker September 11 and 12 at its location at 348 U.S. Route One in Falmouth.
Dancers do not need to be affiliated with the Maine State Ballet to audition.
Dancers aged 13 and older will audition on Friday, September 11. Dancers in grade 7 and younger will audition on Saturday, September 12. All dancers must be at least seven years old by October 15, 2015.
There is a ten dollar audition fee. Girls should wear black leotards and pink tights, hair in bun; boys should wear black tights, white shirt, black or white ballet shoes.
The schedule for auditions is:
Friday, September 11
Ages 13-15 from 4:30-5:30pm
Ages 16 & up from 6:00-7:00pm
Saturday, September 12
Grades 2 & 3 from 12:00-1:15pm
Grades 4 & 5 from 2:00-2:45pm
Grades 6 & 7 from 3:30-4:30pm

Maine State Ballet’s The Nutcracker will take place this year November 28 through Sunday, December 6 at Merrill Auditorium in Portland accompanied by a live orchestra.
Maine State Ballet, based in Falmouth, Maine, is one of New England’s leading performing arts institutions and named Maine’s Best Dance Group by Downeast Magazine for the last two years. Its two components are the School for the Performing Arts, offering instruction in ballet, tap, jazz and other dance styles to more than 500 children and adults; and the Maine State Ballet Company, comprised of more than 25 professional dancers.
