Lily And Lanie Makes Maine Lobster Fesitival Debut

Rockland, Maine - Beautiful Teenagers Lily Muscatell and Lanie Reid of Lily and Lanie are Maine-based country duo that sounded simply wonderful together as they made their debut at the 68th Maine Lobster Festival on Friday, July 31st, 2015 in Rockland, Maine. Lily and Lanie have only been performing together for the past year.

Recently, we did a feature on Lily and Lanie and are a few of the questions we asked. Read our full feature by clicking here.

When did you two start singing as a duo? How did you two meet?

We started singin as a duo in August 2014 after we met at a summer music camp through our high school, John Bapst Memorial HS. Lily is now graduated and Lanie will be starting her sophomore year in the fall 2015.

Was it your dream to be apart of a duo?
Neither of us ever imagined being part of a duo, it just happened. We quickly realized that it was meant to be and now we wouldn't have it any other way. We have become eachother's biggest support and best friend.

Tell us about your style of singing?
We sing country music! We cover old and new country songs as well as write our own music. We like to push the bounds of country music and produce a sound that has blue grass roots, but is new enough to be relatable to our generation. We believe that ANY song can be made into a country song. We often take popular main stream songs, such as Megan Trainor's "All About that Bass" and make a country version of it. Its kind of our thing.

Are there challenges pursuing a singing career in Maine and being normal teenagers?
We think it is challenging to pursue a music career no matter where you are because it is a an industry that is difficult to get in to. We have definitely managed to push through the challenges and balance being normal teenagers and going to school. Lily graduated high school in June this year.
