Freedman-White noted that volunteers are needed at the library to set out the books on tables from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Thursday, July 16. She added, “We need people to serve for two-hour shifts as cashiers and to refresh the tables of books during the sale. Volunteers are also needed to help pack up books at the end of the sale, on Monday, July 20 at 9 a.m.”
“We are still accepting donations of books for this sale,” Freedman-White noted. “One or two bags of books may be dropped off at the library. If you have more than two boxes or large bags of books to donate we ask people to call me at 236-4885,” Freedman-White explained. “Be sure to leave your name, phone number, and the best time to reach you. We will call you back to schedule a convenient time for you to bring in your donation.”
She added, “If you are donating many boxes of books please call and make an appointment for us to come to your home and see what type of books you are donating and whether they are appropriate for our sale. We do not accept musty or moldy or damaged items, encyclopedias, Readers Digest condensed books, magazines or other periodicals, vinyl records, most textbooks (call first to see if the topics of the text books you want to donate are subjects we feel our buyers will purchase), medical, health or technical books more than 5 years old,” she explained.
