A Christmas Carol - Rockland Public Library

Rockland, Maine - Come to the library on Saturday afternoon December 14, 2:00PM,  and enjoy the perennial favorite holiday play--A Christmas Carol.   Lasting just under an hour, the classic is performed by two actors in full period costume, each playing several roles, and includes audience participation.

Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is a story that is both timeless and universal. It is the wonderful tale of the miser, Ebenezer Scrooge, and his clerk, Bob Cratchit.  Through visits from the spirits of the season, Scrooge learns the true meaning of Christmas. The story allows insight to the class system of Victorian England and encourages an audience to help others that are less fortunate than themselves.

If time allows, a question and answer session is included.  The Hampstead Stage Company is a national touring theater company, whose mission is to educate audiences throughout the country by bringing classic literature to life through live theatre, sparking interest in reading the classics, instilling a love and appreciation of the arts, and preserving theatre for future generations.

This performance is free and open to area families on a first come basis.  Come early for seating; limit of 75.  For more information please contact Rockland Public Library at 594-0310.
