Rockland, Maine - The last event for the 66th Maine Lobster Festival is the International Great Crate Race. Fifty lobster crates suspended across the harbor by a rope to another float at the end, the idea to run across the crates back and forth across the fifty float course till you fall in. Great event to be part of on a warm Maine Summer day.

This years winner was 11 year old Duncan Widdecombe, of South Thomaston with 2000 crates!  Next in line was last years champion, Connor McGonagle, of Owls Head with a total of 1,645 crates.
Very impressive when you consider that most of the 90 contestants averaged 5-20 crates!
