2013 Events Schedule
Show Dates & Times:
Friday: August 9, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturday: August 10, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sunday: August 11, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The entire weekend will be full of exciting and fun events for the whole family, both on the show grounds and in the community. All events on show grounds are FREE with show admission ($12 adults, under 12 free). Prices vary for the community events.
For Kids
The show isn't just for adults...bring the kids to our "Just For Kids" area (Tent M) for tons of creative fun. It's all about creating, exploring, and learning, while having fun. From painting, boat making, and pottery to experimenting with musical instruments and setting sail in a kid-friendly skiff on the model pond, imaginations really can run wild at this oasis for the young ones. Live Music
The MBH&H Show presents a fine and varied selection "On the Bandstand," which is centrally located on show grounds (Tent C, near the food). It's a great place to take a short break, or to meet up with your party. You'll find shelter, chairs to sit in, and best of all, some wonderful performers strutting their stuff just for you. Classic boats
The Hall of Fame Docks will have some of the fine examples of Maine-built boats that have set the world standard. Sailboats on display are expected to include a Bermuda 40 and a Block Island 40; powerboats will represented the work of Mount Desert Island builders and boatyards Lee S. Wilbur, Ellis Boat Company, and Jarvis Newman. Located on Dock f.
Demo Docks: Power and Sail
At the new Demo Docks, some fine power and sailing craft will be at the ready for sea trials. Potential boat owners can make an appointment to climb aboard and experience the ride first-hand. Located on Dock f.
11th Annual World Championship Boatyard Dog Trials - Sunday, August 11
The field has been chosen (entries are now closed) for the always zany World Championship Boatyard Dog Trials! The 11th annual running of this pawsome event will kick off with a furry parade of canine competitors at 10:15 on the show grounds. It will feature the newly crowned Maine Sea Goddess and Princess, a flock of puffins pretending to be people, and other surprises. The official trials will begin at 10:30 a.m. on the waterfront; gates will open at 9:45.
