FH: Skidmore Blanks Thomas 4-0

WATERVILLE. Maine – The Thomas College field hockey team dropped a 4-0 decision to Skidmore College on Saturday afternoon at Bernatchez Field.

The Thoroughbreds struck twice early in the first half, with tallies by Gabby Hyman (2:51) and Mariah Redler (7:52). Skidmore maintained the advantage through to halftime.

The visitors tacked on another early in the second on a second Hyman goal 3:42 in, then capped off the 4-0 victory with a goal by Emily Richmond at the 44:47 mark.

Elizabeth Coughlin earned the win in net for Skidmore while sharing time with Madeleine Carre and Jess Gaetgens in the combined shutout. MacKenzie Oberholzer (Hancock, Md.) took the loss for Thomas, stopping nine of 13 shots.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
  • Thomas held a 10-4 margin in penalty corners in the second half after Skidmore held a 10-2 advantage in the first.
