WSOC: Morrisville State Slips Past Thomas 2-1 in Overtime

GORHAM, Maine – The Thomas College women's soccer team fell to Morrisville State 2-1 in overtime in their season opener at the University of Southern Maine on Friday.

Katherine Hoving (Bristol, Maine) broke the tie in the 69th minute, scoring her first collegiate goal to give Thomas the 1-0 lead. The Huskies forced extra time with a goal by Jade Shimer in the 82nd minute.

USM took the victory in the final minutes of overtime then Angelina Rinaldi found Shay Franklin to score the game winner at the 99:05 mark.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
  • The Terriers held a 6-5 edge in corner kicks.
  •  Thomas outshot the Mustangs 15-13, including a 10-5 advantage in the second half.
